Anna Marie Evans is a CIMI®, Senior Corporate Trainer, and former Administrative Board Member with The International Association of Infant Massage, IAIM®. She has extensive experience as a professional trainer/trainer of trainers, in the field of massage therapy and nurturing touch.
Anna Marie has worked with a variety of families, hospitals, schools and early family intervention agencies conducting IAIM®, CIMI® trainings throughout the country. She is a key member of the curriculum team and has developed many of the various teaching materials presented during these trainings. She has and continues to conduct Parent-Baby IAIM® Infant Massage classes, privately and through various organizations throughout several counties and hospitals in Maryland and Virginia.
She has created, implemented, and conducted several programs in nurturing touch, such as Massage for The Expectant Couple, Infant and Toddler Massage, and Massage for The Special Needs Child for various organizations and hospitals.
Anna Marie has served as a faculty and advisory board member at The Baltimore School of Massage, contributing to the curriculum, and has been a visiting faculty member at local community colleges presenting massage modalities, including Infant Massage and Pre-natal Massage.
Anna Marie’s education as a former nationally and Maryland State Certified Massage Therapist consisted of a 500 hour Professional Massage and Bodywork certification program. She also has 100 hours of medical massage education, two certifications in Pre-natal Massage, Infant Massage, and Massage for The Special Needs Child.
Her professional career as a massage therapist, in which she specialized in Pre-natal Massage, included the implementation of a massage program for hospitalized ante-partum patients. She worked closely with hospital staff and Peri-natal Physician Specialists to develop the safest and most nurturing touch protocol for at risk pregnant patients on bed rest. Anna Marie has worked in conjunction with county Infant and Toddler Programs teaching Infant Massage to parents of children with special needs. Because of her demanding career as a mother and trainer, she no longer practices massage therapy.
Graduating with a college degree in mass communications, she has experience working in advertising, marketing and public relations, along with the radio and TV news media. Anna Marie has continued her education throughout the years by taking several continuing education courses pertaining to early childhood/development, child psychology, and various touch therapy modalities. She continues to pursue her education in the field of psychology and healthy family development.
Anna Marie has the honor of working with internationally acclaimed author, relationship specialist and therapist Dr. Steven Stosny, Ph.D. founder of Compassion Power. She has trained directly under Dr. Stosny and is now a Certified Compassion Power Trainer and licensed to teach several of his Compassion Power Programs.
Through a collaborative effort between Dr. Steven Stosny and IAIM dba World Institute for Nurturing Communication, Anna Marie has developed a unique and compassionate approach to parent education, by blending Dr. Stosny’s Compassionate Parenting Programs and IAIM/WINC Nurturing Touch Programs. This newly infused course “Compassionate Parenting and The Power of Nurturing Touch” has several models for both parents and professionals. She continues to train under Dr. Stosny to further develop his Compassion Power Programs.
Anna Marie is the founder of Compassion Approach, LLC, offering various empowerment programs and solutions for families and professionals by proudly representing the work of Dr. Steven Stosny and his Compassion Power Programs, along with IAIM dba World Institute for Nurturing Communication Programs. Compassion Approach also features wellness products to promote wellness for the whole family.
