In 1997, upon her return to clinical practice, she became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage.  Since then, Margi has shared the benefits of infant massage with literally hundreds of mothers and fathers, as well as extended family members and caregivers, in many different settings.  She particularly enjoyed her tenure as a Rural Health Outreach Program (RHOP) Perinatal Case Manager, doing Mother-Baby Home Visits in rural Georgia with the opportunity to work one-on-one with new mothers and their families.   

Her present work as a Mother-Baby Nurse at the MCG (Medical College of Georgia) Medical Center places her in the lives of her patients at a most unique and precious time and she finds many teachable moments.  In addition, she maintains Childbirth, Parenting and Infant Massage classes in both clinical and community settings. 

Still committed to home birth and the midwife model of care, Margi serves as a Birth Attendant at deliveries supporting SC Senior Midwife and friend, Tavish Brinton.  She brings to each birth a wealth of rich professional and personal experience; her last four children arrived via planned home birth.  She has also gained experience with water birth.

Margi is founder of MotherNurture (www.mothernurture.net), a collaboration of healthcare professionals with a mission to provide nurturing support to pregnant and postpartum women and the vision that women who are nurtured are better able to nurture others.   In conjunction with this work, Margi has studied Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage. 

Loren, her husband of 40 years, now retired, is an involved and enthusiastic partner in her endeavors.  They are parents of six grown children and proud grandparents to eight.
